Speiro CMS — Church Management Platform
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your church's ("the Church", "you") use of the Speiro church management platform operated by Speiro (Pty) Ltd ("Speiro", "we", "us") — including the mobile applications (iOS and Android), the web applications, and associated backend services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms.
Speiro provides a cloud-based church management platform including member management, communication tools, giving integrations, attendance tracking, service planning, discipleship, and related features as described at www.speiro.africa. Features may be added, changed, or removed over time.
The Church is responsible for the accuracy of information entered, managing user access and roles, keeping login credentials secure, and ensuring its members consent to data collection in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). The Church is the Responsible Party for its members' data; Speiro acts as the Operator processing data on the Church's behalf.
The Church agrees to use the Platform for legitimate church management purposes only. The following are prohibited: bulk unsolicited messaging to non-members, storing data unrelated to church operations, sharing login credentials with unauthorised parties, attempting to breach or probe the Platform's security, and using the Platform for commercial gain unrelated to ministry.
All member data is stored on Amazon Web Services in Cape Town (af-south-1), encrypted at rest and in transit, and isolated per church. Speiro will never sell, share, or access your data except for technical support purposes with your consent, or where required by law. The Church retains ownership of all data it enters. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and POPIA Compliance statement.
Where the Church uses third-party content within the Platform — for example worship song lyrics and chord charts — the Church is responsible for holding the appropriate licences (such as a CCLI licence) and for meeting its own reporting obligations. Speiro provides tools to record and report usage but is not a party to your content licences.
Speiro aims for 99.5% uptime. Support is available via email at support@speiro.africa during business hours (Mon–Fri, 08:00–17:00 SAST). Critical issues are addressed as a priority. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where practical.
Fees are as set out on our pricing page and the agreement completed at signup, and typically comprise a once-off setup fee and a monthly subscription based on membership tier. Subscriptions are deducted monthly from the bank account provided by the Church. Non-payment after 30 days may result in account suspension. Speiro will provide reasonable notice of any change to fees.
By providing banking details and signing the service agreement, the Church authorises Speiro (Pty) Ltd to debit the agreed subscription amount from the nominated bank account on or after the 1st of each month. This mandate remains in force until cancelled in writing with 30 days' notice. The Church may dispute a debit within 40 days by contacting its bank. Speiro will provide at least 10 business days' notice of any change to the debit amount.
Either party may terminate with 30 days' written notice. On termination, your data will be made available for export to you within 14 days and then permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days, in line with POPIA. The debit order mandate is automatically cancelled upon termination.
The Platform is provided on a reasonable-effort basis. To the extent permitted by law, Speiro is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from the Church's misuse of the Platform, inaccurate data entered by the Church, or factors outside Speiro's reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under South African law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to church administrators. Continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
